This delightful antique 18ct Gold Suffragette ring is dated Edwardian 1907.
The beautiful ring is adorned with a violet 0.20ct Amethyst, two sparkling 0.05ct Diamonds and two green 0.08ct Peridots.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The stones are set in a fancy 18ct Yellow Gold gallery which is complete with clear hallmarks on the inside.
A beautiful antique ring that encapsulates the history of such an important movement.
